Welcome — and thank you for being here.
My name isn’t the important part. What matters is that this blog, Beneath the Bottle, is my space to write honestly about surviving abuse, living with alcoholism, and searching for healing.
For 33 years, alcohol was how I coped with a childhood shaped by emotional, physical, and sexual abuse. Writing here is one of the ways I’m learning to face those truths instead of burying them. This isn’t an easy journey, but it’s one I no longer want to walk in silence.
What you’ll find here are pieces of my story: the heavy days, the memories that still echo, and the small glimpses of hope I’m slowly learning to hold onto. None of it is polished or perfect — but it’s real.
I share because I believe none of us should have to carry these things alone. If you see yourself in my words, I hope you’ll feel less isolated. If you’ve never experienced these struggles, I hope you’ll leave with a little more understanding of what it means to live with them.
Thank you for reading, for listening, and for walking even a small part of this path alongside me.
This blog isn’t professional advice or therapy — just one person’s voice, written in the hope that it might reach someone who needs to hear “me too.”
Until next time, be gentle with yourself.
